#2 STUBBINS (6-1) was too close to above par fractions in the Jaipur (G1) June 20 and he paid the price late. I picked him on top that day because the pace was expected to be hot and he was a capable closer at playable odds. His rider got a bit too aggressive last time, and the switch back to his winning rider Joel Rosario should allow him to sit and finish at a hint of a price. This turf course can be tricky to handle, and it was nice to see him rally for the place over a speed favoring surface in the local Franklin-Simpson Stakes (G3) last year.

#4 Totally Boss (9-2) won this race last year and exits a head defeat in the Shakertown (G2) at Keeneland. The versatile gelding is a logical contender under his winning rider Florent Geroux.

#6 Kanthaka (5-1) rallied to miss by a neck in the Jaipur and that race set up perfectly for him. The fragile 5-year-old gelding has not won since May 2018, but it seems as though he has found a home in turf sprints for his new trainer Graham Motion.

#12 Bound for Nowhere (5-1) won the local Tourist Mile in 2018. He owns multiple competitive numbers and is a competent early-pressing turf sprinter, but he is 0-for-3 at this distance.
