Saturday's Best Bet: Sedamar set to pounce in Osunitas
Saturday’s 9th race from Del Mar is the Osunitas Stakes for fillies and mares traveling one mile on the turf course (Post Time 9:02 p.m. ET).
#2 SEDAMAR (4-1) is fairly consistent and does some of her best work at Del Mar, and she has fired fresh shots multiple times. She missed by a nose in the local Solana Beach last summer.
#4 Tapwater (7-2) controlled the pace and saved the show in the Santa Barbara (G3) May 8, and the marathon distance tripped her up that day. All three of her wins were at one mile and she will probably try to stalk and pounce in this spot.
#9 Brooke (5-2) chased above par fractions and ended up a solid 3rd in the Wilshire (G3) in her June 20 return. Umberto Rispoli knows her now and she should make her presence felt throughout from the outside post. It looks like the South American import has acclimated to California and she is one of multiple early-pressing types in this affair.
