Saturday’s 9th race from Saratoga is the Grade 1 Fourstardave Handicap for 3-year-olds and up traveling one mile on the turf course (Post Time 5:46 p.m. ET).

Chad Brown has four of the nine entrants in this race, and there is a very good chance that one of his runners wins, and one or two of his other entrants could easily hit the board. #1 RAGING BULL (5-2) rallied for the place in this event last year, and he won his other two local turf starts. He was good as a sophomore, unlucky last year, and seems to have improved in 2020. He rolled home as my top choice in the Shoemaker Mile (G1) May 25, and did not get enough pace help in a close-up show finish in the Maker’s Mark Mile (G1) July 10. The classy, consistent flat mile specialist is most likely going to make a solid late run, and he should finish somewhere in the top three under his regular pilot Joel Rosario.

#6 Uni (3-1) was never gong to catch her sharp, loose on the lead stablemate Newspaperofrecord in her Just a Game (G1) return June 27. She is 7-for-9 at one mile and closed strongly for 3rd in this event last summer.

#8 Without Parole (4-1) has not won since the Saint James’s Place (G1) at Ascot in 2018. He is 0-for-4 in this country but all four were grade one races, and he was competitive in three of them. He is pretty good at one mile and fits with these.

#7 Valid Point (12-1) won his first three starts last year including the Secretariat (G1). He had troubled trips in the Shadwell Turf Mile (G1), and in his Poker (G3) return July 10. He is lightly raced and still has upside, but is going to need a career best effort to compete with his talented stablemates.

Playing the horses can be a rewarding but tough game. Exacta, trifectas, superfectas, Pick 4s, Pick 5s -- there are so many wagers to play, it can get overly confusing. How do you know how much to play or which wagers to try? Unfortunately, part of the learning process can include losing money. But we would like to help you shortcut that process by learning some of the most common mistakes that horseplayers make on a daily basis. Take a look at Horse Racing Nation’s newest eBook -- “Top 10 Mistakes Horseplayers Make” -- and see if it helps you avoid some common mistakes and win more playing the races!
