Saturday's Best Bet: Offspring off and running in Ladies Turf

Saturday’s 8th race from Fair Grounds is the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Ladies Turf for LA-bred fillies and mares traveling a mile and a sixteenth on the turf course (Post Time 4:25 p.m. ET).

#4 OFFSPRING (9-2) was nabbed out of her last by Joe Sharp, and he has decent stats first after the claim. She is 2-for-2 at Fair Grounds and I like her early-pressing versatility. She figures to get the jump on the closers.

#6 Net a Bear (3-1) was a non-threatening 5th in the common Louisiana Cup Distaff Sept. 19. She rallied to beat Room To Finish in this event last year and Florent Geroux was aboard that day.

#5 Room To Finish (5-2) got no pace help as the beaten favorite in a show finish vs. this kind at Louisiana Downs Sept. 19. She likes this course and distance and should get a better setup this afternoon.

#3 Alliaceous (6-1) is back on turf, and she cruised in two of her three grass starts. The sophomore filly is not out of this and should offer value.
