Saturday’s Best Bet: Midnight Rising can ascend in Oaklawn Mile
Saturday’s ninth race at Oaklawn is the Grade 3 Oaklawn Mile for 4-year-olds and up traveling one mile on the main track. The scheduled post time is 5:32 p.m. EDT.

No. 4 Midnight Rising (7-2) exits back-to-back local route wins against lesser company, and his numbers jumped up in those races. The switch to dirt definitely agreed with him, and he figures to stalk the pace under his winning rider Emmanuel Esquivel.
No. 7 Frosted Grace (4-1) moves to the Mike Maker barn and can make an impact in this race. He was part of the exacta in all five local starts and won half his six starts at one mile.
No. 8 Silver Prospector (3-1) still can run at age 7. He fired trifecta shots in his last three routes and got back in the winner’s circle Feb. 25.
No. 2 Denington (5-2) raced wide from the outside post in the mud in the Tinsel at 1 1/8 miles Dec. 16. He ran well in back-to-back races in Kentucky in October and November but had Lasix in those races and does not have it here.
