No. 5 Get Her Number (9-5) was overmatched in the Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) last time. He ran well in multiple races around one turn last year. He scored at this distance at in June and won under Saturday's rider Flavien Prat at six panels in November. In 2022 stakes action he landed the show in the Triple Bend (G2) and completed the exacta in the Bing Crosby (G1) and the Cigar Mile Handicap (G1).
No. 2 Forbidden Kingdom (8-5) is fast and classy enough to win a race like this. His local form is solid. He won the San Vicente (G2) and San Felipe (G2) last year and exits a runner-up finish behind Taiba in the Malibu Stakes (G1).
No. 1 Holden the Lute (6-1) exits a big local win at this distance as the even-money favorite. Flavien Prat rode him last time, but he jumps over to Get Her Number. Frankie Dettori takes the call, and he probably will save ground stalking the pace.
No. 3 Spirit of Makena (4-1) pressed and scored as a 41-1 outsider in his 6 1/2-furlong bow at Del Mar last summer. He stretched out, set the pace and finished a head behind Holden the Lute his second time out. He returned to a sprint, dueled on the lead and edged away in his return Feb. 11. He improved his speed ratings in all three starts, and those last two figures put him in the mix vs. this group.
