Saturday's Best Bet: Dixie Drawl lengthens stride in Harrison Johnson
{{monthName}} {{day}}, {{year}} {{hour12}}:{{minuteTwoDigit}}{{dayPeriod}}
Saturday’s 6th race from Laurel Park is the $100,000 Harrison E. Johnson Memorial Stakes for 4-year-olds and up traveling a mile and an eighth on the main track (Post Time 3:03 p.m. ET).
#6 DIXIE DRAWL (6-1) aired at this distance Jan. 23, and that was his second win from a trio of nine furlong outings. He stalked outside and weakened at 5-2 odds in the John B. Campbell Skaes last time, and the pace was above par that day. The six-time local winner could easily rebound in a race lacking much front end speed.
#5 Galerio (7-2) exits a solid runner-up effort in the John Campbell and he just goes out there and fires exacta shots just about every time. The consistent early-pressing gelding likes this oval.
#7 Plot the Dots (5-1) fired trifecta shots in nine of ten local outings and he finished 2nd in both starts at this distance.
Wagers:
#6 to win
Exacta 5-6/5-6-7
Trifecta 5-6/ALL/7
