No. 1 Cathkin Peak (5-2) might be able to wear these down under Umberto Rispoli. He was sharp in his local optional claiming return on June 18 and rallied for show dough in the Eddie Read (G2) and Del Mar Mile (G2). He seems to prefer this turf course.

No. 2 Irideo (5-2) ran well in his last three starts in California. He looked good winning the restricted Wickerr Stakes on July 24 and exits a solid runner-up finish in the Del Mar Mile. He might stalk the pace and get first run under Hector Berrios.

No. 3 Beyond Brilliant (6-5) should make his presence felt throughout and is probably the one to catch. He does his best work at longer distances and won’t offer much value.
