Saturday's Best Bet: Cartwheelin Lulu ready to win NYSS Fifth Avenue
Saturday’s third race from Aqueduct is the $150,000 New York Stallion Series Fifth Avenue for 2-year-old fillies dashing six furlongs on the main track (Post Time - 1:18 p.m. ET).
#6 CARTWHEELIN LULU (5-2) went to the front in all three starts and she captured her first two outings. She could not see out the trip at one mile last time. The cut back in distance helps her chances and her pace ratings suggest that she is really a stalker. She still must prove that she can pass horses, and she projects an outside stalking trip today. Manny Franco is 6-for-18 with Jeremiah Englehart recently and the fresh filly drew well.
#4 Sassy Agnes (1-1) shoots for a state bred stakes four-bagger and might be the speed of the speed. The obvious pace player won't offer any wagering value and might get softened up on the front end.
#5 Forgotten Hero (3-1) easily went all the way in her course/distance bow Nov. 4. She gets a pace and class test today.
#3 She's So Shea D (12-1) got up late to win her dirt sprint debut in the slop at Belmont Oct. 11, and she finished 12th and last in the Key Cents at this distance last time. She gets pace to chase in the paper race.
#2 L. A. Page (15-1) should be finishing at a price. She rallied from 10th to easily win her maiden claiming debut at this distance, and she was nowhere vs. similar stakes foes at one mile Oct. 20.
#1 Party Like Grandma (8-1) got the early lead and won her first two starts. She did not get to the front in her last pair and lost both of those outings. She will probably be sent from the rail.
