No. 1 BEMMA’S BOY (5-1) was on the wrong end of the win photo in his last two shorter turf routes at Fair Grounds. He ran well in all three starts at this distance including a win in the 2020 Pan American (G2). He missed all of 2021 prior to his last two runner-up finishes, and his lone local try resulted in a sharp turf marathon tally in 2019. He should save all the ground behind expected honest fractions, and his new pilot Umberto Rispoli is a good judge of pace.

No. 9 Another Mystery (6-1) got no pace help in the Muniz Classic (G2) last time. He finished in a dead-heat for the win in the Connally Turf Cup (G3) at this distance Jan. 30, and Flavien Prat booted him home in the Black Tie Affair at Arlington Park last summer. He should get pace to chase this time.

No. 8 Bama Breeze (12-1) showed some ability in an adventurous 4th in the local Sycamore (G3) last fall. He never got involved in the McKnight (G3) Jan. 29, but he is training steadily for this and might get the right setup.

No. 2 Sole Volante (20-1) has the right patient style but has not fired a big shot in quite some time. He will lag back and pass some tiring runners, and he can be used in 3rd of 4th.
