Saturday’s 10th race from Turfway Park is the $150,000 Bourbonette Oaks for 3-year-old fillies traveling one mile on the all-weather surface (Post Time 5:45 p.m. ET).

#8 ADVENTURING (3-1) improved her numbers in each of her three maiden route starts for Brad Cox. All three of those races were originally scheduled for turf and run on the main track, and she stalked and romped in her graduation run Feb. 16. Since they keep trying to run her on turf, it makes sense to switch to all-weather ground. I like her running style versatility and she could easily win this under Florent Geroux.

#10 Candace O (5-1) was competitive in all four turf starts for Graham Motion. She exits an okay 4th in the Sweetest Chant (G3) and the runner-up and show finisher were both next-out stakes winners. Quality local rider Rafael Bejarano takes the call and she will probably stalk wide.

#3 Oliviaofthedesert (8-1) is interesting if she handles all-weather ground. She got the wrong setup in the Honeybee (G3) at Oaklawn Park March 6. In that event, she chased slow fractions and came up empty in the drive. She is 3-for-3 at one mile and figures to sit behind lively fractions and make a run. Her stablemate #9 Forever Boss (12-1) makes the turf to all-weather move for Ken McPeek. She should be finishing at a price.

Playing the horses can be a rewarding but tough game. Exacta, trifectas, superfectas, Pick 4s, Pick 5s -- there are so many wagers to play, it can get overly confusing. How do you know how much to play or which wagers to try? Unfortunately, part of the learning process can include losing money. But we would like to help you shortcut that process by learning some of the most common mistakes that horseplayers make on a daily basis. Take a look at Horse Racing Nation’s newest eBook -- “Top 10 Mistakes Horseplayers Make” -- and see if it helps you avoid some common mistakes and win more playing the races.
