Monday's Best Bet: Wholehearted a serious threat in Wilma Mankiller

Monday’s 9th race from Will Rogers Downs is the $50,000 Wilma Mankiller Stakes for fillies and mares dashing six furlongs on the main track (Post Time 6:15 p.m. EDT).

#3 WHOLEHEARTED (3-1) finished in the top three in her last nine starts, and earned quality numbers in all three outings since the Robertino Diodoro claim. She wheels back quickly and should get pace to chase. Her new rider Ty Kennedy wins races with this barn. 

#2 Estilo Feminino (5-2) is a decent optional claiming type for Steve Asmussen. She owns competitive numbers and stalking speed, and she landed the place in a couple of stakes races in 2018. 

#7 Spring Steen (8-1) has speed and likes this course and distance. She reunites with her winning rider Ry Eikleberry. 

#9 Lady Orchid (8-1) finished 1st or 2nd in all five starts vs. Oklahoma-breds (4 wins), and she is 2-for-2 at Will Rogers. She cruised in all three sprint starts and owns early-pressing versatility.   

#10 Drip Brew (6-1) drew outside the other speed and will probably try to run and gun under Floyd Wethey Jr. She captured 8 of 13 starts in 2019.
