Monday's Best Bet: Moon Over Miami shines in Grand Couturier
Monday’s 6th race from Belmont Park is the $150,000 Grand Couturier Stakes for four-year-olds and up traveling a mile and a half on the turf course (Post Time 3:34 p.m. ET).
#5 MOON OVER MIAMI (7-2) is a fresh, improving four-year-old colt for Bill Mott. He can stalk or close and has been knocking on the door in these long distance stakes races.
#6 Gufo (8-5) always fires trifecta shots for Christophe Clement. He adds blinkers and his winning rider Joel Rosario stays put.
#8 Burning Bright (15-1) is on the upswing and deserves a shot in the stakes ranks after a blowout win in the slop May 30. He was part of the exacta in his last five starts and should make his presence felt throughout.
#1 Red Knight (6-1) finished first or second in seven of his last ten stakes starts. The fresh gelding enjoys this course and distance and will try to get involved late.
#3 Sadler’s Joy (5-1) does not win much anymore but can still run a bit at age eight. The classy veteran should make his presence felt late under Jose Ortiz.
#9 Shamrocket (12-1) is a reliable late runner and Irad Ortiz Jr. rode him well in a trio of races at Gulfstream Park over the winter. He can get a piece of this.
