Monday's Best Bet: Mo Clare's leads the pack in Brookmeade

Monday’s fourth race from Colonial Downs is the $125,000 Brookmeade Stakes for Virginia-bred or sired fillies and mares traveling 1 1/16 miles on the inner turf course (Post time 3:09 p.m. EDT).

No. 1 Mo Clare’s (7-2) might be loose on the lead from the inside post. Chris Block excels with new additions to his barn and this mare almost went all the way in her Canterbury return May 28. 

No. 4 Urban Fairytale (9-5) stalked and scored in this race last year, but disappointed in both starts this season. She should be within striking range throughout. 

No. 7 Continentalcongras (3-1) has not competed on turf in quite some time. Her recent dirt form is solid and she is stakes placed on turf. She projects a stalking trip from the outside post. 

No. 2 Fionnbharr (4-1) might be able to rally for a share. She should be far back early and packs a decent late kick.
