Monday's Best Bet: Keeper Ofthe Stars can shake loose in Megahertz

Monday’s 7th race from Santa Anita Park is the Grade 3 Megahertz Stakes for fillies and mares traveling one mile on the turf course (Post Time - 6:37 p.m. ET).

I would like to see #3 KEEPER OFTHE STARS (7-2) go to the front in this spot. She set the pace in four of six starts from April 7 to Sept. 20 last year, and she won each of the four races she grabbed the early lead. She rated behind fast fractions and won the Autumn Miss (G3) Oct. 26, and found eleven panels out of reach Nov. 30. She cut back to a mile in the Lady Shamrock and ended up 2nd after stalking from the rail. Abel Cedillo is a fine speed rider and he should just go on with it.

#8 Super Patriot (5-2) is a consistent late runner on turf and Joel Rosario takes the call. She fired trifecta shots in her last six starts and missed by a nose in the restricted Kathryn Crosby Nov. 8. She could easily rumble past these.

#6 Brill (3-1) stole the Lady Shamrock at this course/distance Dec. 28. That was a solid first turf effort, but she will need to run better to take this, especially if she is challenged early.

#1 Carressa (5-1) stretches out to a mile on dirt and completely turned things around in her last three starts. She figures to save ground stalking the pace and Uncle Mo is a solid grass sire. John Shirreffs shows a +ROI first turf and she sports back-to-back local bullets for this.
