No. 3 Heather’s Gold (6-1) exits back-to-back local $8.5k claiming wins at this distance, and he was nabbed out of his last by a competent outfit. His winning rider stays put, and I like his early-pressing versatility.
No. 1 Straightoutadutton (7-2) figures to make his presence felt throughout from the inside post. He dueled, opened up and was second best in a similar local sprint Aug. 22.
No. 8 Ribbons and Medals (5-1) is a fresh gelding turning back for a productive jockey-trainer team. The tactical type should work out a decent trip from the outside post.
No. 5 Cloud Play (4-1) ran well in his last three local sprints. He turned back and rallied for the show Aug. 22, and he can make some noise if the pace heats up.
No. 7 Goody Goomer (5-2) faced stakes company in two of his last three starts. He turns back in distance and should be motoring late.
