Friday's Best Bet: Sirenusa a live longshot in Keeneland's Valley View
Friday’s ninth race from Keeneland is the Grade 3, $150,000 Valley View Stakes for 3-year-old fillies traveling a mile and a sixteenth on the turf course.
#11 SIRENUSA (20-1) finished out of the exacta for the first time off a layoff in a turf route stakes at Indiana Grand from an outer post Sept 5. She won an entry level race here April 22, and she figures to track Cool Beans from second place if she gets a clean break. She should get the jump on the late runners, and the two-time turf route stakes winner was second against older stakes foes at Canterbury on June 23.
#13 Poetic Charm (4-1) invades from France for Godolphin Stable and Charlie Appleby. Mike Smith rides the four-time overseas winner, and she probably fits perfectly from a class standpoint. She could easily win this event.
#3 Daddy Is a Legend (7-2) finished behind division leader Rushing Fall on four occasions, and she is 3-for-5 in her starts without that rival in the field. She is fresh, likes firm ground, and has won here before.
#5 Cool Beans (10-1) looks like the lone speed on paper, and she has fired trifecta shots in all six career outings. She will take them as far as she can under Geroux.
#7 Colonia (6-1) packs a nice late kick, but she does not get much pace help, and she might want more ground. She can compete for the win in things break her way.
#8 Goodthingstaketime (12-1) is eligible for an entry level spot, but she hit the board in her last five turf route stakes in the US, and she can be used underneath.
