No. 11 Limited Liability (8-1) won an allowance event at 1 1/8 miles on turf in the spring, and ran well without winning in his last two turf stakes outings. He captured both local turf starts and might not be out of this.
No. 6 Cellist (15-1) hit the board in both starts this year. He won the Grade 3 Louisville at this distance last year and might get lost in the wagering. He figures to work out a decent stalking trip and might move forward at playable odds.
No. 3 Bold Act (7-2) is an overseas shipper for Charles Appleby. He placed in back-to-back stakes races earlier this year and probably fits with these.
No. 2 Red Knight (9-2) is a veteran closer with the class to win a race like this. He has a good record at this distance and will try to get involved late.
No. 1 Highest Honors (8-1) adds blinkers and can be used underneath for Flavien Prat and Chad Brown. He completed the trifecta on three occasions in turf stakes races at 1 1/2 miles.
No. 10 Red Run (12-1) added blinkers and rallied to win an optional-claiming turf race at 1 1/8 miles on Sept. 14, and the runner-up was a next-out stakes winner. Mike Maker’s colt might contend for a minor award at square odds.
