No. 4 Gorilla Trek (3-1) rallied for the win in his turf route bow, and was up the track in the Grade 2 Bourbon (G2) second time out. He picked up the show in a race originally scheduled for turf and run at 1 1/16 miles on a fast main track at Churchill Downs last time. He owns decent late pace ratings and will try to get involved from off the pace.

No. 6 Alder (5-2) makes his first start as a gelding. He stretches out and switches surfaces, and Brad Cox and Axel Concepcion teamed up to win Thursday’s feature at Turfway Park with Chop Chop.

No. 3 Woodcourt (5-1) set a fast pace and held the show in a similar local route on Dec. 1. He removes blinkers and his new rider Luan Machado is enjoying a productive meet.

No. 7 Mena (5-1) won his last two dirt routes as the favorite, and the show finisher from his last outing was a next-out winner. He steps up and tries all-weather ground for the first time, and a stalking trip is expected.
