Friday’s 10th race at Churchill Downs is the Grade 2 Edgewood Stakes for 3-year-old fillies traveling 1 1/16 miles on the turf course. The scheduled post time is 4:51 p.m. EDT.

No. 10 Flashy Gem (10-1) exits a good try as my top choice in the Bourbonette Oaks. She gamely chased her stablemate Botanical but could not reach that one, and was seven lengths clear of the rest. She easily graduated in a turf route and should attend the pace under Luis Saez.

No. 2 Liguria (6-1) made nice progress for Chad Brown last year. She rallied for the place behind a runaway winner in her flat mile turf bow at Monmouth, and sat in midpack and got up by neck at Aqueduct second time out. She shipped to Del Mar for the Jimmy Durante late last year, and she sat wide in midpack from post 11 and rolled home to score by 2 1/4 lengths. Flavien Prat is 2-for-2 with her and she might return running.

No. 3 Cairo Consort (3-1) usually shows up with a top three effort on turf for Todd Pletcher. She will probably be in the mix in the lane and figures to finds her way into the trifecta once again.

No. 6 Mission of Joy (5-1) won her last three turf routes at Tampa Bay for Graham Motion. Joel Rosario hops aboard and I like her running style versatility.

No. 11 Revalita (5-1) was a close fourth in her stateside bow for Chad Brown. She did not get much pace to chase that day and I can see her going better under Jose Ortiz.

No. 5 Preliminary (5-1) looked good graduating from off the pace in her turf route bow from post 10 at Gulfstream Park on March 16. Irad Ortiz Jr. sticks with Chad Brown’s promising filly.
