No. 6 DERRYNANE (5-2) could have easily won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G2) with a different trip. She broke sharp from an outer post but Joel Rosario seemed to hesitate a bit and she was shuffled back to last. She picked her way through traffic along the inner portion of the turf course and finished nicely to just miss show dough. She won a pair of abbreviated turf sprints last year including a listed stakes score at Woodbine. She is firing bullets for this and should get pace to chase.
No. 8 Unbridled Mary (6-1) got there in both turf sprints in California and the runner-up from her last won her next start. Joe Bravo rides her back and she should be finishing.
No. 2 Her World (2-1) dusted stakes foes in her turf sprint bow at Monmouth Park as the heavy favorite last summer, and the runner-up was a next-out winner. She has been away for quite some time for sharp layoff trainer Wesley Ward, and she removes blinkers and is probably the one to catch.
No. 9 Fast Corey (8-1) blitzed her rivals as the even money favorite in her all-weather sprint bow at Turfway Park March 10. She has turf influences on the dam side of her pedigree and Brad Cox has strong stats with his recent graduates trying winners for the first time.
No. 3 Kaufymaker (6-1) placed in a trio of turf sprint stakes last year. She can save ground behind the speed and get a piece of this.
