No. 3 Dendera (7-2) drops out of the optional claiming ranks and reconnects with her winning rider Flavien Prat. She rallied for the place in two of her last five starts, but when Prat rides she usually stalks the pace.
No. 2 Storming Lady (3-1) is 1-for-12 with eight minor awards at Del Mar. She exits a sharp turf sprint win in her first start after the Peter Miller claim on Oct. 21, and she has won at this distance before. Juan Hernandez rides back and he shows a profit with this outfit.
No. 5 Varoma (6-1) was the runner-up in her last two local claiming turf routes. Kyle Frey sticks with the patient filly and she might move up in her second start after a layoff.
No. 9 Gallovie (4-1) was part of the exacta in five of her last seven starts. She exits a turf sprint win and Ron Ellis claimed her for $25k that day. She landed the place in a pair of turf routes this year.
